McKenzie Mattheu, a freshman at Assumption and setter for 15 Select, has been selected to the 2014 USA Volleyball Youth National Training Team. The Youth National volleyball team, for 15 and 16 year old athletes, is picked based on performance at tryouts held in over 30 locations across the US, and was created to prepare athletes, starting at a young age, to compete for the US in international and Olympic competition.  Approximately 350 athletes from across the nation are selected to the team, with members training and competing at different locations with US Olympic team coaching staffs.
