Doug has enjoyed the game of volleyball for over 25 years as a player, parent of an athlete and now High School and Club coach.
As a high school coach, he was a varsity assistant at Kentucky Country Day High School and then spent 3 years as a varsity assistant coach at Oldham County High school. At Oldham County, he was part of teams that set the school record for season wins, were ranked as high as 45 nationally and went to the region 8 championships every year. He is now in his first year as the Varsity Head Coach at Spencer County High School where his Lady Bears have broken over a half dozen school records. They are on course for their first ever 20 win season. Doug recently earned his National Federation Of High Schools Certified Interscholastic Coach certificate.
At MAVA, Doug has been head coach for 13 Elite, 14 Elite and is now focused on MAVA 12 Select. Doug brings a player focused coaching style that combines a fun atmosphere with constant feedback and an strong emphasis on volleyball skill development. He has a tremendous passion for the sport and has quickly gained a reputation as a great individual skills instructor who regularly works with 12s on up through to college level players.
