Caitlin Welch (left), University of Louisville and MAVA alum, will be offering a series of defensive camps this summer in the month of July. A highly decorated athlete, she's amassed countless awards and has been recognized as one of Louisville's best defensive players to play the game. The world of volleyball has given her so much, that she's now ready to teach what she learned to others. She's been coaching at MAVA for the last three years and currently serves as an assistant coach for MAVA's 17-1 Select team. Finding her success there, she has been announced as the newly appointed varsity head coach for duPont Manual High School in Louisville, KY. Fundamental/Basic Camp - July 3rd 1pm-5pm
Players will be taught basics starting at passing and defense techniques. Players will learn what needs to be done in order pass and defend well. They will understand what kind of pass is needed and what a good dig looks like. This camp will involve many activities and games for the players to enjoy.

Ages 10-13 July 1st 9am-4pm
Ages 14-18 July 2nd 9am-12pm, 1pm-4pm
July 3rd 9am-12pm
Players will be taught a variety of defensive skills that will be put into live play. Serving and Serve Receive will be taught and demonstrated throughout this camp as well. For example, some of the defensive skills that will be taught and learned are: chin down (left & right), dig collapse, barrel roll, extending, etc...
*Techniques will be taught continuously throughout the camp to build defensive and passing technique.
