Glenn Pike started his club volleyball career with the formation of Louisville Attack Volleyball Club January 5, 2005. The club’s name was changed to Midamerica Volleyball Association, Inc on September 5, 2003 to more closely align the club with its training facility, Midamerica Sports Center. MAVA was registered as the name of the club on July 10, 2014.
Glenn is a 1974 graduate of St Xavier High School and a 1978 graduate of Bellarmine College, obtaining a BA in Business Administration. From 1978- 1990, Glenn was employed by Dun & Bradstreet as a manger in the Business Information Services Division, Murray Hill, NJ. He entered the Insurance industry in 1990 and continues to this day, as Founding Partner of Louisville Insurance LLC.
Enjoying working with people and organizations throughout his career, Glenn is a Partner in Midamerica Sports Center LLC, a two location sports and athletic facility formed February 5, 2002; Partner in RPG, LLC, a real estate holding company formed in 2002; Owner of Pike insurance Agency, LLC., an independent insurance agency established September 15, 2010; Partner in Louisville Insurance LLC, an independent insurance agency established March 28, 2012; and Partner in Pike Investments LLC, an asset investment company established July 26, 2016.
Dan Palmer brings over 20+ years of volleyball coaching and training experience to MAVA. Dan got his start coaching volleyball as a student assistant at the University of Louisville under legendary coach Don Hardin where the team was twice Metro Conference Champions. Dan’s other collegiate and high school coaching stops include Bellarmine University’s head coach for 10 years, Assumption High School assistant coach for 8 years, and Holy Cross High School head coach for 2 years. He was a major part in Assumption’s first 6 State Championships in addition to a State Runner-Up and Semifinalist finish. While at Holy Cross High School, he led the team to the State Tournament Semifinals. Dan has also had great success at the club volleyball level where his teams have placed numerous times at the national tournament including gold medal finishes in 13U, 14U, 18U and 4 times in the 17U division. Dan has trained, coached, and helped place over 150 NCAA Division I athletes as well as numerous athletes at other collegiate levels. He is particularly known around the coaching ranks to be one of the best setter trainers in the country.
